Powerman 5000 The Devil in the Dark Tour 2023 Rockhouse Dive Bar Kitchen Venue El Paso, Texas
Well, the Rockhouse was the place to be last Friday night when they hosted Powerman 5000 to an insane West Texas crowd, needless to say, good times were had by all. I first saw these guys over twenty years ago and have been a fan since, I’ve also had the pleasure of covering them three times here in El Paso over the years, it’s safe to say, West Texas is a standard stop for Spider One and company.
Direct support was Julien-K, I was pleasantly surprised by these guys, and I wasn’t the only one with the same mindset, they got the place going to a fever pitch with this high energy performance, looking forward to seeing these cats again. Local support was Tina Zombie from Juarez, I’ve seen the band several times and its always a fun show. Capacity 97 was also on the evenings card; I was impressed seeing them for the first time and I look forward to seeing them again. which I’m sure I will.
Powerman hits the stage with a vengeance just after 10pm and within minutes, Spider is clearly in control of this audience, as stated, I’ve seen them multiple times, with that said, here’s an observation of mine, Spider hasn’t aged one bit, he looks completely the same from when I first saw him over two decades ago, not only does he look the same, he acts the same, enthusiastic energy is an understatement of what he has boiling over, the Energizer Bunny has nothing on Spider One.
Great night of fun and rock and roll with Powerman 5000 out in the West Texas town of El Paso, that’s sounds pretty good to me.
