“PUSH PLAY”
The debut album, Nobody Panic, by Austin’s Machine Don’t Lie comes out swinging, and over the course of eleven tracks never wanes. It’s difficult to put this band in a certain category, which is a positive thing. Singer, Ben Mallott has an unmistakable voice; and when combined with witty lyrics and a strong sense of melody, you have an album worth of repeat-ready material.
Upbeat tracks, “Shoes” and “Travis County Jail,” hook right out of the gate, while songs such as “Accidental Child” and “As We Please” add depth to a diversely intense record. Nobody Panic is breathtaking from start to finish, and all of the players are well versed in texture and playing with integrity. This album is all killer; no filler!
