Queens of the Stone Age bring The End is Nero Tour 2023 to the Borderland.
El Paso, Texas got a real treat last Wednesday night when Queens of the Stone Age rolled into the Abraham Chavez Theatre with The End is Nero Tour 2023, my best guess is it’s in support of their, latest release, In Times New Roman. Straight outa Seattle in 96, Josh Homme is the founding member as well as the only original member, safe to say, its his band. 8 releases in 25 years and extensive touring to follow each one. It’s shows of this caliber that you circled that date on your calendar once you heard they were coming to town, got those tickets the day they went on sale and that was certainly the case with the 2k plus in attendance on this cool crisp Wednesday night here in West Texas.
9;30, house lights go down and the roar from the audience was deafening as Josh Homme and company stepped out on the stage, the band cut right into No One Knows and the joint went ballistic, truly a sight to see. They went through 19 songs like an unstoppable rebel force, Josh is in total command of the stage as it should be, but Troy Van Theodore on that Telecaster really had my attention, a true master of his craft. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who attended this event that didn’t think they didn’t get their money’s worth, fantastic venue and epic band, it’s a win win on a Wednesday night, that’s pretty good in my book.
