Los Lonely Boys make El Paso the 2nd stop on The Brotherhood Tour 2025

What a treat we had here last Saturday night at the Abraham Chavez Theatre in Lovely downtown El Paso, Texas when Los Lonely Boys brought the highly anticipated The Brotherhood Tour 2025 to the Borderland.   I must be honest, I wasn’t too familiar with the band, of course I’d heard of them and that’s the reason for my interest in covering the show and boy, am I glad I did!
Three brothers make up Los Lonely Boys, Henry Garza on guitar, Jojo on Bass and Ringo doing the honors on percussion.  They hail not too far from here, San Angelo, Texas, oh yeah, it was a Texas thing here on Saturday night!!    The boys have pumped out six releases in twenty-one years, the first was self-titled in 2004 and Resurrection, the most recent was released in 2024.   The style of music, and do I love this, is Texas Blues / Tejano / Rock, the perfect fit for this area, I love the Latin shows, the turnout is always fantastic, and this past weekend was no exception.

The Brothers hit the stage at 9:15 on the nose and kick the evening off with CCR’s Born on the Bayou, an extended version if you will.   The energy is off the charts, maybe because it’s the second show of the tour and they are fresh as daisies, who knows?  But I got to say, they had my full attention, especially Henry.   I was blessed to see Stevie Ray back in 87 and Henry is the closest thing I’ve ever heard to Stevie, what a pleasure it was taking in those riffs standing right in front of Henry photographing, but at some point, I lowered the camera, closed my eyes and took a trip back to 87, not sure if it gets any better than that, but this is what I love about music especially Texas Blues and that’s what the fans got tenfold, they ate it up with a big spoon and I was right there with them.
I’ve always favored a three-piece, Rush, ZZ Top, Double Trouble, ELP, Kings X, The Police, Chevelle and The Stray Cats to name a few and not to mention, I’ve seen all of these bands and now, I can add Los Lonely Boys to this list, they have definitely made me a fan.   Unfortunately, the show was over before you knew it, but the audience was in sheer bliss as the last song of the night was Heaven, well received, to say the least.    This tour runs until 18 July in Pala, California, mainly staying in the Southwest and Midwest parts of the country, I highly and I mean highly recommend this show, so check those dates, get those tickets in advance and enjoy some kick ass Texas Blues and of course, we’ll see you at the next rock show.
