Every once in a while, I’ll get approved for a show that in the end, everything was perfect, not one bump in the road and this was certainly the case this past Sunday night when Cheap Trick rolled into downtown El Paso, Texas at one of my favorite venues, Abraham Chavez Theatre.
Cheap Trick entered my life with the release of Cheap Trick at Budokan in 78, became an instant fan as most and of course, I’ve seen them multiple times in the late 70s and early 80s. They have been relentless over the past four and a half decades, countless tours, 20 albums in 44 years and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. They are currently on a 39 date tour, check the dates, this show comes highly recommended and I can contest to that, as stated, every once in a while, I get a show that nothing goes wrong, the pit, the lighting, two shooters, classic hits from a classic rock and roll band such as The Flame and Dream Police not to mention, a fantastic audience. El Paso always turns out for these classic shows, it never fails, for me, it takes me back 40 years, I love it and so will you.
