Hand Drawn Records. A Compilation. Volume 3.
Live Studio Session at Big Acre Sound (Copper Canyon, TX)
– Words by Dustin Blocker // Photos by James Villa –
Accompanied by a lone guitar and an even lonelier kick drum, Texas music-songwriter, Jonathan Jeter came knocking on the door of Big Acre Sound Studios on the final day of sessions for Hand Drawn Records latest compilation installment, Volume 3. Jeter, best known for his rowdy go as front man for Greenville’s Jonathan Jeter and the Revelators, juxtaposed his typical raucousness for a somber take of his, “Salutations from a Heart Grown Cold.”
Jeter’s gruff demeanor (see: awesome beard), straight-forward picking and husky voice brings his adept storytelling skills to the forefront and helps breath real life into the song. The representation of true loneliness in music is nothing short of an art form within itself. Here, Jeter shows he has the willingness to paint broad strokes and the heart to pull it off.
